Jessie Johnston has been working in magazines and digital media since 2004, including fact-checking, writing and editing at National Geographic Traveler, selling ads with Clevers Media, and project-managing website development for Agentic Digital Media. After accumulating these professional hats, she put them all on at once to create Asparagus Magazine, where she works as Publisher and Editrix-in-Chief. Asparagus launched online in February 2018, and in print the following year. Asparagus has now published nine print issues containing the large and small stories of how we can live sustainably, and has won regional, national and international awards, including 2022’s BC Magazine of the Year.
