Thursday Evening Keynote: How Vulnerable is Canada to Fake News? with Linda Solomon Wood
Orchestrated campaigns to amplify false and divisive narratives are already active in Canada. These campaigns act like infections in the body politic and the situation is likely to get worse as we head into a federal election and as controversial issues become weaponized by domestic and foreign actors.
Linda Solomon Wood, founder and editor-in-chief of the National Observer, will discuss the global context, Canada’s particular vulnerabilities and what we can do to inoculate ourselves and our politics from the virus of fake news.
This keynote is scheduled for February 28 at the VSO School of Music, 843 Seymour Street, Vancouver.
