Allyson McGrane is a successful producer, creator and consultant. Since 2000, she has worked with hundreds of professional and community artists and arts organizations in Metro Vancouver and beyond.
Having trained as a lawyer and been called to the Bar of British Columbia, she is currently a founding partner at Left Right Minds Initiatives which offers arts consulting and web development.
Her work includes grant-writing for individuals and organizations, with a focus on taking a strategic approach. In addition, she is currently a part-time instructor teaching financial management in the Arts & Entertainment Management program at Capilano University as well as the Director of Special Projects for Harrowsmith Magazine.
As a creative producer, Allyson has extensive experience working with multidisciplinary teams and diverse cultural communities. Past and present clients include artists who identify as Indigenous creators, immigrants, youth, seniors, persons with disabilities, culturally diverse, minority languages, LGBTQ+, community-based as well as cross-cultural and interdisciplinary collaborators.
During her time spent working in the arts in Vancouver, she has developed a wide network of local and national contacts and overseen the successful evolution and funding of many projects. Recent projects include producing SILENCE! The Musical with Down Stage Right Productions (as recipient of the inaugural 2019 Access Grant from the Arts Club Theatre Company) and organizing a 17-day Asian tour to Taiwan, China and Singapore plus an international co-production with New Opera Days Ostrava (Czech Republic) for the musicians of the Turning Point Ensemble.
